The Greek Orthodox Church of St. Sophia is a parish under the spiritual and ecclesiastical shepherding of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople.
Senior Holiday Dinner
Our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this year’s Senior Holiday Dinner. To our sponsors the Kontogiannis Family, your generosity made it possible to provide a joyful and memorable celebration. To our hosts and volunteers, your time, energy, and compassion created a welcoming atmosphere filled with holiday spirit. And to everyone who attended or supported the event in any way—thank you for helping us honor and uplift our seniors. This evening was a true reflection of community, kindness, and togetherness.
Albany Sons & Maids Light Up St. Sophia
On December 6, 2025 the Albany Sons of Pericles and the Maids of Athena gathered at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church to decorate the Christmas tree for this year’s holiday season. With the help of Sons and Maids from around the Capital Region, the group was able to light up St. Sophia and kick off the holiday festivities. From our family to yours, we wish everyone a blessed holiday season.
