Welcome to
St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church
ALBANY, NEW YORK | ESTABLISHED IN 1922
We welcome both parishioners and visitors to our website. Please see the information below and throughout our website for details on services, events, and ways to donate or become a new member of our church community.
The Greek Orthodox Church of St. Sophia is a parish under the spiritual and ecclesiastical shepherding of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople.
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America
We are honored and blessed to welcome His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America who is joining us to celebrate a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating with His Eminence are Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne and Chancellor of the Archdiocesan District Elias Villis, Rev. Archdeacon Dionysios Papiris, and Rev. Deacon Ieremias Mandoras. There will be a reception to follow church services. Everyone is invited to attend a Lenten lunch in honor of His Eminence. This promises to be a most memorable occasion in our church history.
